Thief poses as civic volunteer, robs former councilor's home in Howrah
A man attacked his girlfriend with an axe inside a telecom office in Muzaffarpur after she refused to share her call records. The incident, which occurred during office hours, left the woman seriously injured and caused panic among employees before police intervened.
According to officials, the accused, whose identity has not been disclosed, suspected his girlfriend of communicating with someone else. He confronted her at her workplace, demanding access to her call details. When she refused, he took out an axe and attacked her, inflicting severe injuries. The attack led to chaos inside the office as employees rushed to escape or intervene.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attacker also vandalized office property before being restrained. Some employees rushed the victim to the hospital, while others alerted the police. A team arrived at the scene shortly after, arrested the accused, and secured the premises. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the motive and sequence of events.
